Ingredients in Healthy Low Calorie Cinnamon Rolls
As I noted above, you can absolutely use real sugar in place of the zero calorie stuff, and it will only add 14 calories per cinnamon roll.
It is however very important that you use self rising flour! Regular flour won’t work the same and you won’t get fluffy cinnamon rolls. So be sure to get the Relf rising!
Low Calorie Cinnamon Roll Ingredients:
- Self Rising Flour – helps the cinnamon rolls puff up- make sure to get self rising flour!
- 0% Greek Yogurt – naturally boosts metabolism and adds protein!
- Coconut Oil – melted butter or vegetable oil will also work.
- Cinnamon – naturally boosts metabolism!
- All-Natural Zero Calorie Sugar – regular sugar will work, but this helps keep the sugar and calories low.
- Vanilla Extract – adds loads of flavor for virtually zero calories!
- Optional Glazes and Toppings – See below for 2 glazes and yummy toppings!

Cinnamon Roll Toppings:
Optional Sugar Glaze:
- Zero-Calorie All Natural Powdered Sugar (or regular powdered sugar)
- Water
More Optional Toppings:
- Low Calorie Cream Cheese Frosting
- Chopped walnuts
- Chopped pecans
How to Make Low Calorie Cinnamon Rolls
Most cinnamon roll recipes call for you to make a large roll and then cut it into smaller rolls. But I find that it is both more difficult, and messier to do it this way.
Instead, I cut the prepared dough into 10 strips and then roll each individually. It also makes the rolls fluffier because you are not squishing and flattening them to cut each roll.
Tools and Equipment:
- 2 Bowls (one large and 1 small)
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper

How to Make Healthy Cinnamon Rolls:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- To a large bowl, combine the four and Greek yogurt. Mix together until it becomes a sticky dough.
- Lay the dough on a floured surface and roll out to a large rectangle and let sit and rise a little while you make the cinnamon glaze.
- To a small bowl, combine the coconut oil, cinnamon and sugar. Mix together, then spread over the top of the dough rectangle.
- Use a knife or pizza cutter to slice 10 strips, then roll each up into a cinnamon roll shape, placing the cinnamon rolls on the prepared baking sheet as you work.
- Add to the preheated oven and bake for about 15-17 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the optional glaze or the cream cheese frosting and chop any nuts you will be adding.
- When the cinnamon rolls are finished baking, remove from the oven. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before glazing and adding frosting. Top with chopped nuts and serve warm.
