These are the healthiest tortilla chips, they are gluten free and vegan too. You can skip the salt if you are looking to lower sodium, or choose one of the homemade spice blends below the photo.
Low Calorie Chip Ingredients:
- Extra Thin Corn Tortillas – extra thin corn tortillas make the best baked chips!
- Olive Oil Spray – my #1 tip for cutting calories, use a fine mist instead of a drizzle!
- Salt – I also supplied you with 3 seasoning blends below!

3 Homemade Seasoning Blends for Low Calorie Chips:
I like to make these spice blends myself. This ensures I know what is going into my food, and also because all of the spice blend ingredients are pantry staples. So I already have them and can save money. Check out the recipes, I bet you have all or most of the spice blend ingredient too!
You can get store bought if you like, but they won’t be as low in calories. And the store-bought stuff often has preservatives which can cause fat storage and weight gain.
How to Make Baked Tortilla Chips
I am a HUGE fan of parchment paper! It ensures that clean up is extra easy, and stops food from sticking. It also means I don’t need to grease the baking sheets first, saving more calories.
And I recommend using rimmed baking sheets, so your chips won’t slide off and onto the floor. It’s happened to me, so be careful if you don’t have rimmed baking sheets.
Tools and Equipment:
- Knife or Scissors
- Rimmed Baking Sheets
- Parchment Paper

How to Make Baked Tortilla Chips:
- Preheat oven to 400º degrees and line 2 rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cut the tortillas into 6 triangles each. (I do this by stacking them so I can cut all 6 at once).
- Add the tortilla chips to the prepared baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap.
- Spray lightly with olive oil spray and sprinkle with salt or desired seasoning.
- Bake for 11-13 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool, they will continue to crisp up as they cool.
- To store– Place in a gallon freezer bag or air tight container and place in the pantry, will hold for 5-7 days.
