I like to use homemade graham crackers and marshmallows, but I realize that many of you won’t want to do all that extra work. So see the recipe card below for store-bought amounts.

As a bonus, knowing many will want to keep it simple, the nutrition is based off store-bought ingredients. Not the lower calorie homemade versions!

Shopping List for Healthy S’mores Cookies:

  • All-purpose flour (or Gluten Free Flour)
  • Zero Calorie All-Natural Brown Sugar (see recipe card below!) – or regular brown sugar
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Unsweetened apple sauce
  • Vanilla extract
  • Semi sweet chocolate chips
  • Low Calorie Marshmallows (or mini marshmallows)
  • Low Calorie Graham Cracker (or store-bought)

How to Make Healthy S’mores Cookies

I like to hold some of the chocolate chips and crumbled graham crackers back to add to the tops of the cookies.

But if you forget to do that, and add them all to the batter, they cookies will be just as delicious!

How to Make Healthy S’mores Cookies:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. To a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl combine the apple sauce, vanilla extract and water. Whisk together.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix together until just combined.
  5. Add 1/2 of the chocolate chips, the marshmallows and 1/2 of the graham cracker pieces, and fold into the batter.
  6. Scoop out 16 cookie balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Wet your hands a little and then press the cookies down a bit to form cookie rounds.
  8. Top with remaining chocolate chips, and graham crackers.
  9. Bake for 7 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet (they will continue to cook on the sheet while they cool.)

Special Tip: If you are using my low calorie marshmallow recipe, they are BIG. So you will need to dice them. I recommend using kitchen scissors to do this, and if they stick, simply wet the scissor blades.
