These Low Calorie Sugar Cookies are just 48 calories and have only 0.1g of sugar per cookie!
Perfect for decorating, these healthy sugar cookies are easy and fun to make! I have even included a healthy greek yogurt based frosting that tastes like butter cream frosting!

And (maybe best of all) I found some all-natural sprinkles! I included a link in the recipe card.

What You’ll Find in this Article:
Ingredients in Healthy Sugar Cookies
To cut the calories I used vegan butter (though you can use regular) and a zero calorie all-natural sugar that is made from real sugar cane. Of course you can swap that out for real sugar or coconut sugar if you prefer.

Shopping List for Skinny Sugar Cookies:
- All-natural butter spread (I used Simple Truth Buttery Spread)
- All-natural zero calorie sugar (see recipe card)
- Vanilla extract
- All purpose flour
- Baking powder
- All-natural sprinkles (optional- see recipe card)
Special Note: See the recipe card for a low calorie “butter cream” frosting recipe!
How to Make Healthy Sugar Cookies
These cookies are great anytime of the year, but I always find myself making them for birthday parties and holidays. I have a 200 cookie cutter collection, so I have to find use for them!
If you don’t have cookie cutters, put a little flour on a plate, and dip a water glass (rim side down) into the flour. Then use the glass to cut out your cookies. You will need to keep dipping it in flour every 1-2 cookies so they don’t get stuck on the glass rim.

How to Make Healthy Sugar Cookies:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl or countertop mixer with the paddle attachment, combine the butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
- Add in the flour and baking powder, and mix until the ingredients come together in a dough. Divide the dough into 2 balls.
- Place a piece of parchment paper on the countertop and add one ball of dough to the center. Add an additional piece of parchment paper to the top and roll out the dough in-between the parchment paper sheets until it’s 1/4 inch thick.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out 2-3 inch cookies, placing them on the prepared backing sheet as you work.
- Roll out the second ball of dough and proceed cutting out cookies and moving to the baking sheet.
- OPTIONAL: Add sprinkles to the tops if desired.
- Bake the cookies for 7-9 minutes, until golden brown on the bottoms.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and cool completely before adding frosting and decorating.
- OPTIONAL: To make the frosting, add the ingredients to a medium bowl and mix together until well mixed. Then spread on cooled cookies.
