How to Make a Low Calorie Steak Sandwich
The idea behind this recipe for sliced steak sandwiches is that you can use leftover sliced steak. But we also wanted to be sure we included a recipe for sliced steak just incase you don’t have leftovers.
So below you will find directions on making the steak sandwich recipe, as well as how to make sliced steak sandwich meat.
How to Make Sliced Beef Sandwiches:
Steak Sandwiches:
- If using leftover steak, slice thin and reheat if desired. Otherwise make the sirloin steak recipe we have supplied below.
- Open the buns and add the bottom halves to plates or a cutting board.
- Smear with sauce (see options above) and top with onions.
- Top with steak, spinach, and the top of the bun.
- Special Tip: If taking these steak sandwiches for lunch, toast the buns in the oven or toaster oven first. This will reduce sogginess.
Top Sirloin Steak:
- Preheat a grill, or a grill pan on the stove top over medium high heat.
- Spray the steak all over with olive oil.
- Sprinkle with Homemade Seasoning Salt.
- Add the the grill or grill pan and cook for 1-4 minutes (1 for rare, 2 for medium, and 4 for well done).
- Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes (2 for rare and medium, 3 for well done).
- Move to a plate and let rest for 10 minutes, then slice thin, against the grain.
