Ingredients in Healthy Scrambled Egg on Toast
Here at Lose Weight By Eating, we like carbs. They are brain food and I believe that they are an essential part of a healthy diet. With that said, you can totally get keto bread or find a low carb option for this recipe.
Even with real bread, this recipe is just 5.5 carbs! And here’s my little weight loss trick. I have carbs for breakfast, when my body needs brain food the most, and when I have all day to burn them off!

This quick and easy breakfast can also be enjoyed as a snack. And as many of my vegetarian readers already know, eggs are great anytime off the day. Which makes this a great recipe for lunch and dinner too.
I do recommend doubling the serving if you are having it as a full meal. Or try some of the add-ins in the next section to boost the nutrition and calories a bit.

How to Make Healthy Protein Toasts:
- Spray a large skillet with olive oil and heat to medium-high.
- Crack the eggs into a medium bowl, add in the salt and pepper and whisk well.
- Add the bread to the toaster, and toast to desired doneness.
- To the hot pan, add the eggs and push around until scrambled, remove from heat.

There are so many yummy combinations for this recipe! Here are a few I think you’ll love…
More Toppings:
- Sliced avocado
- Slices of tomato
- 1 teaspoon chopped herbs (parsley or cilantro work best)

Sometimes I like to add ingredients in to cook with the eggs. In this case, you will want to cook these ingredients first, then push them to the side and scramble the eggs in the same pan. Finally, mix together and serve atop your toast.
Add-ins to Cook with the Eggs:
- Chopped bell pepper
- Diced red onion
- Sliced black olives
- Sliced green onions
- Diced chives
- Cooked and crumbled bacon
- Chopped cooked ham
