How to Make Low Calorie Brussels Sprouts with Bacon
Instead of cooking both the bacon and Brussels sprouts together, I cook them separately. This way I can control how much bacon grease ends up in the dish once it’s served.
How to Make Low Calorie Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon:
- In a large pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until desired crispness.
- Remove the bacon from the pan and drain on a paper towel lined plate. Drain all but 1/2 tablespoon of the fat from the pan.
- Add the Brussels sprouts and onion to the pan over medium heat. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, mixing once or twice.
- Uncover the lid, mix and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the onions are browned and the Brussels sprouts tender.
- Crumble the cooked bacon over the top, and serve hot.

- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
