Low Calorie Club Sandwich

Low Calorie Club Sandwich

This Low Calorie Club Sandwich is just 419 calories and has 32.4g of protein. And yes that is for the entire sandwich, with the extra slice of bread in the center.

I know what you’re thinking, 3 slices of bread, and bacon. How can this be healthy?! And I use the work “healthy” mildly here, this is more of a “healthier” version than a full on healthy sandwich.

Low Calorie Club Sandwich

The whole idea behind Lose Weight By Eating is to make you healthier versions of the food you crave. This way you don’t go to a diner and get a 900 calorie club sandwich.

You can omit the extra slice of bread (admittedly I do) this will save you 70 additional calories. But I did not know what would get me more “hate mail”. Omitting the extra slice of bread to save calories, or leaving it in. So you choose, this way everyone is happy.

As I noted above, you get to choose if you want to use 2 or 3 slices of bread. To make it easier for you, the nutrition label below reflects 3 slices of bread.

And you can also make this recipe in a sandwich wrap to cut even more calories and carbs.

Finally, I used a homemade bread recipe to keep the calories low. I have supplied the recipe for you below, but you can also use store-bought bread if you prefer. The first bread in this list of the Lowest Calorie Store-Bought Breads is the same in calories, and 100% all natural. Plus you can find it at more stores.

How to Make a Low Calorie Club Sandwich

This quick and easy sandwich makes a wonderful weekend lunch, or dinner on hot summer nights.

I did not include the bacon cooking time, as everyone likes their bacon cooked differently. I like mine so crispy it crumbles, you may like it softer. Choose how you desire to cook it, or use precooked.

  2. Meanwhile, combine the greek yogurt, dijon mustard, garlic powder and pepper in a small bowl.
  3. Add 1/2 of the lettuce to one slice of bread, top with turkey and 1 slice of tomato. Top with another slice of bread, then add the remaining lettuce, the bacon, and another slice of tomato.

Above I talked about the healthiness of this sandwich, so if you skipped ahead, please read the full article. You can choose to remove the extra slice of bread, make this a wrap, or make it as is. I would not call this a “diet sandwich” because it’s not. What it is, is a healthier version you can have guilt free, instead of ordering a 900 calorie club sandwich from a diner or restaurant.
