How to Make Healthy Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

These quick and easy grilled cheese sandwiches are made in just 7 minutes (including prep time) and a great recipe for lunch or dinner.

How to Make Grilled Cheese Sandwiches:

  1. Heat a pan over medium heat.
  2. Spray the pan with olive oil, and add one slice of bread to the hot pan.
  3. Add the cheese, and any additional ingredients to the bread in the pan, and top with the remaining slice of bread.
  4. Cover and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the bottom bread slice is toasted and the cheese has started to melt.
  5. Flip the sandwich and cook uncovered for an additional 3-5 minutes until both slices of bread are toasted and the cheese is melted.
  6. Move to a cutting board and slice in half, serve hot.

I like to use sharp cheddar, it has more flavor and therefore you don't need as much to get the cheesy flavor you want in a healthy grilled cheese. And 2 slices of the cheese is 1/4 cup, just in case you want to use shredded cheese instead of sliced.
Special Tip: If you want to get store-bought bread, it will change the calories a bit. You can also get Dave's Killer Bread Thin-Sliced bread as it has the same calorie count as the homemade recipe I supply below.
