We make this baked bean dish with canned beans… but unlike most of the recipes you’ll find, we don’t use (sugar and preservative packed) canned baked beans to make this amazing beans recipe.
To make this a good recipe for baked beans, that’s both delicious and good for you. We use canned beans and add our own spices. Then we bake it all up in one pan (saving you cleanup time) until you have delicious, thick baked beans recipe that you’ll want to enjoy at home and around the campfire.
How to Make Grillin Beans Recipe for Camping and Backyard BBQ’s:
- Preheat the oven to 375°.
- In a large cast iron skillet (or oven safe skillet or dutch oven), cook the bacon over medium-high heat.
- Cook until crisp, about 5-8 minutes then remove from the pan and crumble into a small bowl. Set aside.
- Add the onion and the bell pepper to the pan and cook, over medium heat, for 5 minutes until starting to soften.
- Turn off the heat and add the homemade barbecue sauce, zero calorie all-natural brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and beans.
