Ingredients in Healthy Bacon Pea Salad
I took out the mayonnaise and the sour cream, and replaced it with metabolism boosting Greek Yogurt!
This gives you the creaminess you want in pea salad recipes, without all the calories and unhealthy fats.
Special Note: Yes I do use real bacon… but just 3 slices per batch, and that’s only 1/2 a slice per serving. I have found that if you use the real thing it helps others accept healthier recipes. Plus a little of the real thing is better than a lot of the substitute when it comes to bacon.

To make this recipe extra easy I don’t defrost the peas for salad. I let them chill the salad faster, and skip the extra work of defrosting them!
You can cook the bacon to your desired doneness, but I recommend crunchy bacon as it will sit in the salad and might get too soggy after a while if you don’t cook it crunchy.

How to Make Pea Salad Healthy:
- In a small bowl, combine all dressing ingredients and whisk to combine. Add more water, a tablespoon at a time until you have a consistency that can be drizzled off your spoon.

- Gently stir the pea salad until the dressing is evenly distributed.
- Top with crumbled bacon.

Yes, that is real bacon! Let me explain…
Traditional pea salad recipes call for 6-10 slices of bacon, I only recommend 3 slices. I have found that the real stuff adds so much flavor, that you can cut down the quantity (thus saving lots of calories) and still get the same great taste.
With that said, you can absolutely use turkey bacon in its place. I leave the decision to you.
