The benefits of cucumbers in water will help you shed weight and stay full, longer. Try adding some cucumbers to your water today… or try some of the recipes below!

How to Make Cucumber Water

Now that you have all the facts of the benefits of cucumbers in water… it’s time to learn how to make some cucumber waters!

Making a cucumber water infusion is pretty simple:

  1. Slice a cleaned, peeled (or unpeeled depending on your preference) cucumber into 1/2 inch slices.
  2. Combine cucumber slices in water, and type with ice. Allow to marinate for at least an hour. (For best results, allow it to marinate overnight in the refrigerator.)

The cucumber in water will float, so it’s important to top with ice to keep them submerged.

To avoid having to use ice, try purchasing a fruit infused water pitcher that holds the cucumber slices in an infusion chamber. They work great, the large pitchers look fantastic on a dinner table and encourage your family to drink more water, and the travel bottles help keep you hydrated all day long.

You can refill the pitcher or travel bottle several times before it starts to lose flavor.

You can even eat the cucumber slices if you like, but discard your batch after 24 hours.

Adding mint to your cucumbers in water can help you cool down on a hot day (or during a hot flash!)

Mint and cucumbers both naturally cool you down, and reduce bloat… making it a perfect drink for summer!

Cucumber Lime Water

This cucumbers in water combination is one of my favorite recipes.

Just like the Cucumber Lemon Water recipe, this Cucumber Lime Water recipe is made using two ingredients that go very well together – lime and cucumber.

The lime provides a tanginess that makes this infused water recipe especially delicious.

The benefits of lime water are pretty impressive mainly because limes have a lot of vitamin C along with other nutrients (one lime can provide almost 48% of your daily vitamin C).

That huge amount of vitamin C helps with everything from preventing scurvy, protecting your heart, support better eye health and improve gum health, even naturally raising your metabolism!

Among other lime water benefits, it’s also been known to help soothe digestion problems and reduce fevers,

To make a batch of cucumber lime water, prepare the basic cucumber water recipe above and add 1/2 a lime sliced into thin rings to the water.

Special Tips

I have been making infused water recipes for some time now, and I have become well versed on how to make the most flavorful and nutritious drinks.

Here you will find my Infused Water Tips to help you get the most of the recipes above.

1. Get an Infusion Bottle or Pitcher-

When you use an infusion water bottle or pitcher, the ingredients in your fruit infused water are submerged in the water. They won’t float to the top. This will help increase the flavor and nutrition.

2. If you don’t have an Infusion Bottle or Pitcher-

Use Ice! Add all the ingredients to a pitcher, then top with ice… a lot of ice. It will hold down the fruit as it melts, and help keep the ingredients submerged longer.

3. Get Organic-

In fruit infused drinks you are looking for health benefits and flavor. But all the pesticides in non-organic produce will leach into your healthy drink… making it unhealthy! Organic cucumbers are almost the same price as non-organic… so spend the extra $0.50 or $1.00 and get the healthier version.

4. Make the Night Before-

Before you go to bed tonight (or after dinner) make your infused water drink for tomorrow. It will take one less prep job off your hands, and you’ll wake up to perfectly infused water!

5. Change up the Ingredients-

Keep your taste buds guessing (and happy) by adding different fruits and herbs to your cucumbers water! I like to add the following ingredients when they are on sale:

  • Watermelon
  • Strawberries
  • Mango
  • Oranges
  • Thyme
  • Basil

Making infused water with cucumbers can help keep your tastebuds happy, while reducing bloat.
