For years I was obsessed with diet sodas, I figured “they’re zero calorie, so they must be good for me” but all along my beloved diet sodas were causing weight gain, migraines, breakouts, and chronic pain!

How Often and When Should you Drink Detox Waters?
Detox water recipes are meant to be enjoyed anytime of the day. They help you drink more water and cut out chemicals and artificial sweeteners by giving you a healthy alternative to diet sodas and sugary drinks.
With that said, there are times of that day you can maximize the benefits of detox water. Specifically, when drinking on an empty stomach.
For maximum benefits, drink detox water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
I also like recommend drink a glass of weight loss detox drinks before each meal. They fill you up a little and curb appetite, so you’re less hungry. This will help you save calories.
But remember, I created detox waters to help you drink more water. So there is no “wrong” time of the day to drink them. Simply enjoy them in place of other drinks and you’ll start seeing and feeling the benefits right away!

How to Make Detox Water
Most infused water for weight loss recipes are made the same way, however in this article, I do have some detox tea recipes, and other hot detox drinks. So be sure to read the directions for each of the top 25 detox water recipes below.


For every detox water recipe below, the preparation steps are pretty much the same:
- Drop ingredients in the bottom of a pitcher or fruit infuser bottle.
- Use a muddler to squish the ingredients a little bit.
- Cover with ice about 1/2 way through then fill to top with water. Place in the fridge for 1 hour before serving.
- You can refill the container 2-3 times before it begins to lose flavor.
These ingredients are based on making in a 2 quart pitcher. If you plan on using a portable fruit infuser, you’ll want to scale down the ingredients by about half the amount or less for recipes with a lot of ingredients.
Special Tip: You want to add the ice in step #3, it holds down the fruit and other ingredients so you get more flavor and nutrients. If you skip this step, the ingredients will just float on top. If you want to drink it at room temperature, simply follow the directions and leave on the kitchen counter. The ice will melt and it will come to room temperature in a couple hours, and be perfectly infused too!
Most recipes for water infusion are made the same way, and it’s made extra simple when using a special bottle for infused water! If you use an infused water bottle, you can skip adding the ice.
