How to Make Turkey Sausage Patties for Breakfast

Making recipes with ground turkey for breakfast is a great way to increase your protein, in a healthy way. These ground turkey patty recipes can be made in just 10 minutes, including prep time!

Low Calorie Cooking Tip: Use Olive Oil Spray in place of drizzling olive oil or adding butter. It lets off a very fine mist, so you can cook the ground turkey breakfast sausage without adding lots of extra calories.

I like to double this recipe… I make one batch for breakfast, and while I’m at it I make a second batch for my low calorie English Muffin Breakfast Sandwiches in my best selling cookbook.

How to Make Turkey Sausage Patties:

  1. Preheat a large skillet over medium high heat, and line a plate with paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground turkey, garlic, sage, lemon, cumin, chili, salt and pepper. Mix until just combined, overmixing will result in tough sausages.
  3. Divide the turkey mixture into six balls, then gently squish each down into flat patties.
  4. Spray the preheated skillet with olive oil, and add the breakfast sausage patties to the hot skillet, working in batches as needed.
  5. Cook each turkey breakfast sausage patty for 1-3 minutes on each side, pressing down a little to help them retain the flat shape.
  6. When browned completely, and cooked through, transfer them to the prepared plate to drain.
  7. Serve hot, or add to English muffins, along with eggs and cheese for a yummy breakfast sandwich.
