You can choose your favorite nuts in the recipe, I used pecans, but you can make these low calorie cookies with walnuts, peanuts, whatever nut you prefer.
I love to make these as healthy snacks for after school and lunch boxes. They are also a wonderful dessert or after workout snack.

Ingredients for Low Calorie Cookies with Nuts
I used coconut oil and coconut sugar to make these cookies extra healthy. But you can choose to use brown sugar and softened butter in place of them should you prefer.
I used chopped pecans in this recipe, but any nuts will work. Choose your favorite or use a mix of nuts.

How to Make Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies
These healthy cookies with nuts will hold in the fridge for a week or the freezer for a month.
And if you don’t have parchment paper, that’s ok. Just grease the baking sheet before adding the dough.
How to Make Low Calorie Cookies with Nuts:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk the coconut oil, and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the apple sauce, then the eggs one at a time. Finally mix in the vanilla.
- To a separate bowl combine the baking soda, salt and flour. Add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Add in the chocolate chips and nuts, mix together until just combined.
- Drop by large spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are nicely browned.

In the recipe it says “2 tablespoons eggs”
I’m not sure what you mean by that? Is it 2 eggs or do you mean to crack an egg and get two tablespoons from that mix?
