I used coconut oil and coconut sugar to make these cookies extra healthy. But you can choose to use brown sugar and softened butter in place of them should you prefer.

I used chopped pecans in this recipe, but any nuts will work. Choose your favorite or use a mix of nuts.

How to Make Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies

These healthy cookies with nuts will hold in the fridge for a week or the freezer for a month.

And if you don’t have parchment paper, that’s ok. Just grease the baking sheet before adding the dough.

How to Make Low Calorie Cookies with Nuts:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk the coconut oil, and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the apple sauce, then the eggs one at a time. Finally mix in the vanilla.
  4. To a separate bowl combine the baking soda, salt and flour. Add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Add in the chocolate chips and nuts, mix together until just combined.
  6. Drop by large spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are nicely browned.

    In the recipe it says “2 tablespoons eggs”
    I’m not sure what you mean by that? Is it 2 eggs or do you mean to crack an egg and get two tablespoons from that mix?
