It’s easy to make a low calorie 1800 pineapple margarita. You can use any silver (or gold) tequila you like in this on the rocks margarita recipe.
We do recommend middle shelf tequila though, so the flavor of the alcohol doesn’t overpower the homemade spicy margarita mixer.
Low Calorie Tips for Making a Jalapeno Pineapple Margarita Recipe:
- Skip the Sugar Rim… Use salt instead of sugar! It goes better with tequila, and better with spicy margaritas too. You can also skip the rim garnish all together.
- Get “No-Sugar-Added” Pineapple Juice… Or make your own! Most store-bought pineapple juice is packed with extra sugar, preservatives, and is not at all fresh tasting. But this no sugar added pineapple juice is fresh and delicious.(see recipe card!)

Making a homemade spicy margarita on the rocks has never been easier. You do need a few items to make this margarita, here is a list of items to gather before you start mixing.
Equipment You’ll Need to Make Spicy Pineapple Margarita:
- Cocktail shaker
- Muddler
How to Make a Skinny Spicy Jalapeño Margarita:
- Add the salt to a shallow dish. Wet the rim of a rocks or margarita glass with the slice of lime, and gently rotate the rim into the salt to coat the edge of the glass evenly. Fill with 1/2 cup ice and set aside.
- To a cocktail shaker, add the triple sec and 2 slices of jalapeño, and gently muddle.
- Then add in the tequila, lime juice, pineapple juice, and 1/2 cup ice to the shaker. Shake until well-chilled.
- Strain the jalapeño pineapple margarita into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
- Garnish with a pineapple slice and a slice of jalapeño.

- ½ ounce triple sec
- 1 fresh jalapeño sliced
