These Low Calorie High Protein Donuts are just 86 calories each, and have 7.7g of protein! They are also low sugar and low carb.
I basically grew up in a donut shop, my grandparents owned and operated the “Foster’s Donuts” shop in Simi Valley CA and I spent the first few years of my life in the shop. So you can say I’m almost donut royalty (I’m joking, but I really do love donuts!)

If you have read my weight loss story or seen me on the countless TV shows talking weight loss and low calorie recipes you know that growing up in a donut shop was the start of my weight issue.
But I won’t bore you with all that, you can read about it more in the “about” section of the website. Instead I want to show you how I created this low calorie healthy version that actually helps you lose weight, instead of gain weight.

Ingredients in Healthy Donuts
I made these healthy donuts with the help of greek yogurt, one of my favorite weight loss ingredients. Greek yogurt is not just packed with protein, it also naturally boosts metabolism!
And I have been getting so many oat flour recipes requests, that I made my own for this low calorie donut recipe. You could almost say these are just a healthy oatmeal baked into a donut (with strawberry glaze, yum!)

How to Make Healthy Donuts
You’ll need a food processor or a high speed blender to make the oat flour. Alternatively, you can just purchase oat flour and mix the dry ingredients together in the bowl.

How to Make Low Calorie Donuts:
- Preheat oven to 350° degrees and spray a 6-hole donut pan with olive oil.
- In a food processor or high speed blender, combine the oats, protein powder, and sweetener. Pulse until you have a flour like consistency.
- Transfer to a medium bowl and add in the greek yogurt, milk, and baking powder. Mix together until combined.
- Fill each donut hole with 4 tablespoons of batter, smoothing out in an even layer.
- Bake in the center rack for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and cool in the donut pan for 5 minutes, then move the donuts to a cooling rack to cool completely.
- While the donuts cool completely, make the glaze: Add the yogurt and the homemade jam to a medium bowl and mix together. Add water 1 teaspoon at a time until it’s runny (you might not need both teaspoons- that’s ok)
- Once the donuts are completely cooled (very important) dip the tops of the donuts into the glaze and add the sprinkles (if using).
Low Calorie High Protein Donuts Recipe
As I noted above, donuts and I go way back. And growing up I always thought that the pink glaze was strawberry flavored. So when it came time to make my own, I made it strawberry flavored!
But you can make it a more traditional glaze flavor, I have supplied directions in the notes section of the recipe card.
