Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 9 apples (honey crisp or gala)
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 3.5 tablespoons sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 4 tablespoon all-purpose flour (or gluten-free)
- 1 cup oats (old fashioned or quick oats)
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil (or butter)
- 3 tablespoons raisins or dried cranberries (optional)

Healthy Apple Crumble Meal Prep and Storage
Meal Prep – Bake the apple crumble and then allow to cool completely. Slice single servings and place into individual containers. Or cover the entire baking dish with foil, then place in a 2 gallon bag (if freezing).
Frozen Pie – Will hold in the freezer for 1 month
Refrigerated Pie – Will hold in the refrigerator for 5 days.
Reheating – You can reheat individual portions in the microwave for 1 minute (defrosted) 3-5 minutes (frozen). For defrosting the entire crumble, move to the kitchen countertop over night (or place in a cool oven if you have pets) to defrost.

Ingredients
Apple Crumble Filling:
- 9 apples (honey crisp or gala)
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1.5 tablespoons sugar or coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour or gluten-free
Apple Crumble Topping:
- 1 cup oats old fashioned or quick oats
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour or gluten-free
- 2 tablespoons sugar or coconut sugar
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil or butter
- 3 tablespoons raisins or dried cranberries (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Peel and thinly slice apples, dropping into a large bowl as you work. Toss in lemon juice to stop them from browning.
- In a large bowl, combine all of the Apple Crumble Filling. Mix together and then add to a pie pan or 9×9 baking dish.
- To the same bowl (no need to wipe out) combine the Apple Crumble Topping ingredients. Mix with your fingers until you can clump together.
- Add the crumble topping to the top of the apples.
- Bake for 60 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 30 minutes before serving.
Vegan Apple Crumble:
- Use coconut oil instead of butter in the Apple Crumble Topping.
Gluten-Free Apple Crumble:
- Use Gluten-free oats, and Gluten-free flour in the Apple Crumble Topping.
