Every protein powder is a little different. I have 2 vanilla protein powders, one is a collagen powder and one a vegan protein powder. They are very different when it comes to sweetness.

This is why the range on the sweetener varies in the recipe card. So I recommend starting with the lower amount, tasting and then adding more as needed.

  • All-natural zero calorie sugar, or honey, or regular sugar

How to Make High Protein Lemonade

Many protein lemonade recipes call for juicing the lemons before adding into the smoothie. But I find that it makes a better, more lemony flavor to add the whole fruit (less the skin and seeds of course).

As a bonus, by using the entire fruit you’re adding in more of the great metabolism boosting properties to the drink!

How to Make Protein Lemon Smoothies:

  1. To a blender, add all of the protein lemonade ingredients and 1 tablespoon sweetener.
  2. Pulse to get things moving, then blend until smooth.
  3. Taste and add in an additional tablespoon of sweetener as needed, then blend again as needed. 
  4. Poor into a glass and enjoy chilled.
