This Low Calorie Hot Chocolate is just 53 calories and made with metabolism boosting almond milk! Best of all, I added real chocolate chips to the skinny hot chocolate, so it’s the real thing, and so much better than hot chocolate packets!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon All-Natural Zero Calorie Sugar (see recipe card below)

Healthy Hot Chocolate Meal Prep and Storage

Meal Prep: You can make the hot chocolate base ahead of time if you prefer. Add all the cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and the sugar to a food processor and pulse until the chocolate chips are finely ground. Then add the powder to a jar and cover for later.
Storage: Will hold in the pantry for 1 month. And the fridge for 2 months.
Serving: Add 2 tablespoons to the heated almond milk and mix well.

This hot chocolate is low calorie and so easy to make. If you have a craving for chocolate, this is the one you will want.
You can lower the calories and sugar more with Sugar Free Chocolate Chips, just make sure to get all natural as the fake sugars can cause weight gain.
Special Tip: If you don't have or like cinnamon, swap it out for 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Ingredients
 
 

  • ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips chopped
  • 1 tablespoon All-Natural Zero Calorie Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Add the milk and cinnamon sticks to a small sauce pot.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to the lowest setting and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the cinnamon sticks and add in the cocoa, chocolate chips, and sugar. Whisk well until the chocolate melts and the milk gets a bit frothy.
  • Pour into a mug and serve hot.
