- All-Purpose Flour β you can also use gluten-free flour, see below for GF swaps!
- Baking Soda β this helps the banana bread rise!
- Salt β just a pinch, but you can skip it if you are on a low sodium diet.
- Coconut Oil β helps your body burn fat! You can swap it out for melted butter if you prefer.
- Zero Calorie Maple Syrup β this all-natural maple syrup has no sugar and no calories. But you can use regular maple syrup if you prefer.
- Eggs β help bind the bread together, see below for a vegan swap!
- Unsweetened Almond Milk β extra low calorie, but any milk will work as long is itβs unsweetened
- Bananas β the browner the better, they are sweeter that way!
- Vanilla Extract β adds a ton of flavor and complexity for virtually zero calories!

How to Make Low Calorie Banana Bread
This banana bread recipe is easy and fun to make. The hardest part is letting it cool before slicing and eating it!

How to Make Healthy Banana Bread:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9Γ5 inch loaf pan with coconut oil.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt (and any nuts of chocolate chips).
- In a separate bowl, mix together the coconut oil and maple syrup. Mix in the eggs, vanilla and mashed bananas.
- Stir banana mixture into flour mixture until just combined. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.Β
- Let banana bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
