  • Use Vegan Eggs in place of eggs (see recipe card for my favorite vegan egg substitute)

Ingredient Swap for Gluten-Free Banana Bread:

  • Use Gluten-Free 1:1 (onto one) flour in place of flour (see recipe card for my favorite GF flour)

How to Make Low Calorie Banana Bread

This banana bread recipe is easy and fun to make. The hardest part is letting it cool before slicing and eating it!

How to Make Healthy Banana Bread:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9Γ—5 inch loaf pan with coconut oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt (and any nuts of chocolate chips).
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the coconut oil and maple syrup. Mix in the eggs, vanilla and mashed bananas.
  4. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture until just combined. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.Β 
  6. Let banana bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

If you prefer to use the more traditional ingredients, feel free to swap them in… it will be the same measurements (1/3 cup butter instead of 1/3 cup coconut oil).
