Meal Prep: You can meal prep the chicken patties ahead of time. If you would like to stack them, add parchment paper between them. Cover or add to freezer bags.

Ingredients
Chicken Burger Seasoning:
- 1.5 tablespoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Chicken Burger Patties:
- 2 pounds ground chicken
- Chicken Burger Seasoning above
- 1 tablespoon Steak Sauce
- 4 slices thin sharp cheddar cheese or your favorite cheese
- 4 Low Calorie Buns
Optional Chicken Burger Toppings:
- Spinach
- Tomatoes
- Red Onions
- Pickles
- Avocado
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Grilled Onions
- Low Calorie Secret Sauce
Instructions
How to Make Low Calorie Chicken Burgers:
- In a large glass bowl combine the ground chicken, burger seasoning and steak sauce. Mix together until just combined.
- Use your hands to divide the ground chicken into 4 portions, then form each portion into discs.
- Press unto the center of each patty with your thumb to imprint a deep dimple (this will help keep your burgers flat when you cook them.)
- Cook according to the directions below (BBQ, Oven, Stovetop, and Air Fryer directions below).
- To Assemble: Place the bottom halves of the Low Calorie Buns on plates (or one serving platter) top with spinach, a cooked chicken burger patty, onions, and your desired toppings, and then top each burger with the top of the bun.
- Serve hot.
Grill/Barbecue Directions:
- Preheat your grill to 400 degrees, start this at least 10 minutes before you add the burgers for BBQ.
- Place the chicken burgers patties directly onto the grill above the direct heat.
- Cook the chicken patties for 7 minutes, then turn the patty over, and cook for another 5 minutes
- Repeat this process for about 20 to 25 minutes or until they are fully cooked (internal temp 165 degrees). Top with cheese while still on the grill.
- Move to a plate to rest for 5 minutes.
Oven Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°, and place a cooling rack onto a cookie sheet
- Once the oven is hot, bake your chicken burgers in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Until the internal temp is 165 degrees.
- Move to a plate, and top with cheese. Rest for 5 minutes.
Stove Top Directions:
- Pre-heat a skillet or cast iron skillet over high heat.
- Add the chicken burgers patties to the hot skillet and cook for 7 minutes.
- Flip and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until cooked through (165 degrees).
- Move to a plate, and top with cheese. Rest for 5 minutes.
Air Fryer Directions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°.
- Place your chicken burgers patties into the air fryer, and cook for 6 minutes each side, until cooked through (165 degrees in the center).
- Move to a plate, and top with cheese. Rest for 5 minutes.
