Apple Cinnamon Breakfast Quinoa

Try this metabolism boosting, delicious apple pie flavored breakfast this week and curb your sweet tooth early in the day.

Makes 2 servings


  • ½ cup quinoa
  • ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 apple chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp. almonds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional)

Get started:

Apple Cinnamon QuinoaRinse quinoa in cold water, drain and move to a small sauce pot. Add the apple sauce, water, ½ of the chopped apple, cinnamon and nutmeg to the pot and mix together.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. When all the liquid is absorbed (about 15 minutes) it’s ready to serve.

Stir in the rest of the chopped apple and serve, drizzle a little maple syrup over the top or top with almonds if you like.
