Ingredients for Healthy Air Fried Asparagus
I like to make my own spice blends, but then again I have a huge spice cabinet. So you can choose to make your own, or purchase it from the store.
The reason I like make my own is that I know there are no preservatives, I can control the salt, and again I have a lot of spices… so it’s free.


Shopping List for Healthy Air Fryer Asparagus:
- 1 pound asparagus
- Olive oil spray
Choose One Seasoning:
- 2 teaspoons Seasoning Salt
- 2 teaspoons Ranch Seasoning
- 2 teaspoons Taco Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning (add 1/2 teaspoon salt as well)
- Zest of 1 lemon (add 1/2 teaspoon pepper as well) – low sodium option!!
How to Air Fry Asparagus
Making asparagus in the air fryer is easy and fun. And I have made it extra fun with 5 yummy dips to dip or drizzle over our asparagus. You don’t have to use these (the asparagus is great on it’s own) but I love to dip my asparagus like French fries, so I had to include these.
Healthy Dips for Asparagus:
- Blue Cheese Dip (42 Calories)
- Ranch Dip (28 Calories)

How to Cook Asparagus in an Air Fryer:
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.
- Add the asparagus to a baking dish and spray with olive oil.
- Sprinkle over the seasoning you chose, and toss together to coat well.
- Working in batches if needed, add the asparagus to the air fryer in a single layer.
- Air fry 5-7 minutes for medium thick asparagus, 7-10 minutes for thick asparagus, or 3-5 minutes for thin asparagus.
- When the asparagus is crispy on the edges, it’s done.
- Carefully remove from the air fryer and serve alone, or with one of my low calorie dips (see above!)

Nutrition and Calories in Air Fryer Asparagus
To figure out this nutrition label, I chose the Italian Seasoning and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. If you want to lower the salt, you can make any of the homemade seasoning recipes and omit the salt, or see above for the lemon pepper option that has no salt at all.
Depending on what kind of asparagus you get (thin, medium, thick) 1 pound will differ in how many stalks each serving is. So the best I can do here is tell you that the serving size is 1/4 pound, or 1/4 of the recipe.
