  • 2.5 oz bunch fresh basil stems removed
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • ¼ cup walnuts or pine nuts
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast or parmesan cheese (optional)
  • ¼ cup water

  • Add the basil leaves, avocados, hemp seeds (or pine nuts/walnuts), lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper to a food processor or high speed blender.
  • Pulse adding water 1 tablespoon at a time until minced into a thick paste.
  • Taste and season with more salt and pepper as needed. Then add to your favorite cooked pasta and toss well.
