Healthy Funfetti Milkshake Meal Prep and Storage

Meal Prep

  • Individual Milkshake Bags – Freeze the almond milk ice cubes and add individual bags for later.
  • Prepared Milkshakes – These milkshakes are best made fresh, but you can make them ahead of time and store in a clean jar (with a lid) in the fridge.

Leftover Storage

  • Fridge Storage – Add any leftover milkshake to a jar (I actually serve them in jars so all I have to do is add a lid). Close and store in the fridge for 2-3 days.
  • Freezer Storage – Pour any leftover milkshake into ice cube molds, and freeze solid (about 4 hours). Then pop out of the mold and move to a freezer bag to avoid freezer burn. Will hold for 1 month in the freezer.

This Low Calorie Birthday Cake Milk Shake has over 32 grams of protein, making it a great meal replacement shake.
If you want this as a dessert, you can omit one scoop of the protein powder to lower the calories a bit.
Special Tip: If you want to double the protein you can add in 1-2 additional scoops of protein powder. I wanted to keep this both low in calories and high in protein.

Instructions

  • Before making this recipe, you will want to freeze the almond milk into ice cubes. However, if you forgot you can use regular ice in its place. It won’t be as thick though.
  • Add the frozen almond milk ice cubes, greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder, and cake batter extract to a blender.
  • Blend the ingredients together, adding 1/8 cup more almond milk as needed to thin the shake.
  • Add in 1/2 tablespoon sprinkles and mix together by hand (unless you want them crushed up then blend).
  • Pour into a tall glass and top with remaining sprinkles.
  • Serve cold.
