You can have two slices of this healthy taco pizza recipe for just 307 calories. That’s just 153 calories per slice (and they are large slices!). This healthy taco pizza is easy and delicious. It comes with a homemade pizza dough recipe, or you can purchase store-bought.

Healthy Taco Pizza Recipe

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • ½ pound ground turkey or beef
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pizza crust
  • 8 ounces vegetarian refried beans
  • ½ cup salsa
  • 10 tortilla chips 
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • ¼ cup chopped tomatoes

Healthy Taco Pizza Meal Prep and Storage

Meal Prep: Prepare the sauce and dough as directed. Roll out the dough and add toppings and cover with plastic wrap (leaving on the baking tray). 
Freeze Entire Pizza – Move to the freezer, will hold for up to a month. 
To Bake Frozen Pizzas – Follow the directions below on baking, but add 2-5 minutes if still frozen. 
Refrigerate Entire Pizza – Move to the fridge, will hold for 3-4 days. 
To Bake Refrigerated Pizzas – Follow the directions below on baking.

Freeze Leftover Slices – Add 1-3 slices to a freezer bag or container and freeze. 
To Reheat Frozen Slices – Add to the oven at 350 degrees and bake for 10 minutes, or microwave for 2-3 minutes, or pop in the toaster oven.
Refrigerate Leftover Slices – Add 1-3 slices to a freezer bag or container and refrigerate. 
To Reheat Refrigerated Slices – Add to the oven at 350 degrees and bake for 5 minutes, or microwave for 1-2 minutes, or pop in the toaster oven.

This low calorie taco pizza recipe is just 307 for 2 large slices (1/4 of the pizza!) and comes with a yummy taco pizza sauce recipe.
This homemade taco pizza with refried beans can be made with store bought, or homemade pizza crust (which we have supplied a recipe for) and can include any taco toppings you love.
We've included a section on Mexican pizza toppings, and recommend adding all your favorites as the "Optional" toppings are all low calorie and healthy.

Homemade Taco Pizza:

Optional Mexican Pizza Toppings: (add just before serving)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 450°
  • If using homemade pizza crust, stretch into a large pizza, add to a baking sheet, and bake for 5 minutes. If using pre-baked pizza crust, skip this step, but place crust on a baking sheet and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground meat over medium heat until cooked through. Then drain, stir in taco seasoning and water, and bring to a simmer. Cook, uncovered, for 10 minutes until the liquid is absorbed.
  • In a medium bowl, combine beans and salsa.
  • Spread the bean and salsa sauce over crusts. Then top with taco meat, chips and cheese.
  • Bake for 5-8 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the crusts browned.
  • Sprinkle with lettuce and tomatoes, and any additional Mexican pizza toppings, cut into 8 slices, and serve with additional salsa.
