These Low Calorie Baked Meatballs are just 131 calories and packed with 14.6g protein each. The low calorie baked meatballs are so low in calories that you can have 2-3 guilt free. Especially if you serve them over some of my low carb pasta swaps (more on that below).
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 1.5 pounds lean ground turkey
- 3 cups Low Calorie Marinara Sauce (or store-bought)
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
- 1 clove of garlic minced
- 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs (regular or Gluten-free)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup low fat shredded mozzarella cheese

Meal Prep: Make the casserole and cool, then add single servings to meal prep containers with pasta, spaghetti squash, or baby spinach.
Storage: Will hold in the fridge for 5 days and in the freezer for a month.

Low Calorie Baked Meatballs
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds lean ground turkey
- 3 cups Low Calorie Marinara Sauce or store-bought
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
- 1 clove of garlic minced
- 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs regular or Gluten-free
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup low fat shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Pour ¾ of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
- Add the turkey, egg, parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper to a large bowl.
- Add in 1/4 cup marinara sauce (it’s ok if it’s cold).
- Mix with your hands until just combined, over-mixing will make tough meatballs.
- With wet hands (to avoid sticking) divide the meatballs into 12 portions, then roll each in your hands until you have a perfect ball. Place in the casserole dish and keep working until you have 12 meatballs.
- Add the meatballs. Spoon remaining sauce over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and top with cheese, and bake 15 more minutes.
- Broil for additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Serve hot.
