Meal Prep: You can add the rub to the chicken and put into a gallon freezer bag for later. Store in the fridge or the freezer.
Storage: Will hold in the fridge for 5 days and the freezer for a month.
Reheating: Reheat in the microwave for 1-3 minutes, or in a 350 degree oven until warmed through (about 20 minutes)

Low Calorie Grilled Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 4-5 pounds chicken breasts, thighs, legs, wings, or whole chicken
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle the spices all over the chicken. At this point you can let the chicken marinate in the spice rub for 1-12 hours (in the fridge) or start grilling right away.
- Just before grilling, lightly spray the chicken all over with olive oil spray. Then follow the cooking directions below for each cut of meat.
Chicken breast, boneless, skinless
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- 6 – 8 ounces will take between 8 to 12 minutes over direct medium heat, until the internal temperature is 165°
Chicken breast, bone-in
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Grill for 30 to 40 minutes over indirect medium heat, until the internal temperature is 165°
Leg or thigh, bone-in
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Grill for 30 to 40 minutes over indirect medium heat, until the internal temperature is 165°
Thigh, boneless, skinless
- Preheat the grill to high heat.
- Grill for 8 to 10 minutes over direct high heat, until the internal temperature is 165°
Chicken wings
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Grill for 18 to 20 minutes over direct medium heat, until the internal temperature is 165°
Whole chicken
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Grill for 2 hours over indirect medium heat, until the internal temperature is 165°
