I like to use silver (blanco) tequila in these margaritas, gold can have a strong flavor. It’s harder to cover the strong flavors of gold tequila with the low calorie margarita mix below.
And you can choose to add a salt rim, or skip it. I have supplied directions and ingredients so you can if you like. But these margaritas are just as good without the salt.

How to Make a Low Calorie Margarita
You can make the recipe as directed and add it to a cocktail shaker, or skip the theatrics of making a margarita.
Make it easy and add the agave, lime juice and tequila to the bottom of a glass. Mix until the agave is dissolved and then top with ice, sparkling water, stir and serve in the glass you mixed it in.

- Add the salt to a shallow dish.
- Wet the rim of a rocks or margarita glass with the slice of lime.
