Meal Prep: You can meal prep this healthy recipe by making the burger patties ahead of time, add parchment paper between then if you want to stack. Cover and add to the fridge or the freezer.
Storage: Will hold for 5 days in the fridge, burger patties (alone) will hold for 1 month in the freezer (cooked or uncooked).

Ingredients
Burger Seasoning:
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Burger Patties:
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- Burger Seasoning above
- 1 tablespoon Steak Sauce
- 4 slices thin sharp cheddar cheese or your favorite cheese
- 16 large butter lettuce leaves
Optional Burger Toppings:
- Tomatoes
- Red Onions
- Pickles
- Avocado
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Grilled Onions

Instructions
How to Make Low Calorie Lettuce Wrap Burgers:
- In a large glass bowl combine the ground beef, burger seasoning and steak sauce. Mix together until just combined.
- Use your hands to divide the ground meat into 4 portions, then form each portion into discs.
- Press unto the center of each patty with your thumb to imprint a deep dimple (this will help keep your burgers flat when you cook them.)
- Cook according to the directions below (BBQ, Oven, Stovetop, and Air Fryer directions below).
- To assemble stack the lettuce leaves two per stack. Place 1/2 of the lettuce leave stacks onto plates. Top with a burger patty, desired toppings, and then top each lettuce wrap with the remaining lettuce stacks.
- Serve hot.
Grill/Barbecue Directions:
- Preheat your grill to 400 degrees, start this at least 10 minutes before you add the burgers for BBQ.
- Place the burgers patties directly onto the grill above the direct heat.
- Cook the hamburger patty on 1 side for at least 5 minutes, then turn the patty over and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Repeat this process for about 20 to 25 minutes or until desired doneness is reached.
- Move to a plate to rest for 5 minutes, they will continue cooking while they rest.
Oven Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°, and place a cooling rack onto a cookie sheet
- Once the oven is hot, bake your hamburgers in the oven for 15 minutes. Your burger temperature should be 155°F for medium, cook for an additional five minutes if you like your burgers well done.
- Move to a plate to rest for 5 minutes, they will continue cooking while they rest.
Stove Top Directions:
- Pre-heat a skillet or cast iron skillet over high heat.
- Add the burgers patties to the hot skillet and cook for 5 minutes.
- Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes for medium.
- Move to a plate to rest for 5 minutes, they will continue cooking while they rest.
Air Fryer Directions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°.
- Place your burgers patties into the air fryer, and cook for 4 minutes each side for medium.
- Move to a plate to rest for 5 minutes, they will continue cooking while they rest.
