Meal Prep: Make the lemon water as directed, then move to a jar and cover. Add to the fridge to chill. Will hold for 4 days in the fridge
Serve: I like to serve the meal prepped version cold, but you can also reheat on the stove, or in the microwave.
Leftovers: I like to add leftovers to ice cube molds, and freeze. Then I can use them as ice cubes and make the “meal prep” cold version of this drink later.

Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 3 inch piece of fresh ginger peeled
- 1 lemon juiced
- 1-2 tablespoons raw honey or agave (optional)
Healthy Add-Ins:
- Lavender – fresh or dried lavender is great in this drink and can help ease tummy troubles too. Add in with the ginger to steep in the water and infuse it with flavor.
- Mint – naturally reducing bloat mint is a great add-in for this drink. Get fresh mint leaves for best results (and flavor). Add the mint in with the ginger and steep in the water and infuse it with flavor.
- Lime – if you really love citrus add in juice of 1/2 a lime to boost flavor and (metabolism boosting) vitamin C.
- Cucumber – especially great in the cold version of this drink cucumber naturally reduces tummy bloat! I like to add this at the very end before serving.
- Berries – add a boost of color and metabolism boosting vitamin C with 1/4 cup berries (your favorite or a mixture) to the water after boiling. Let steep for 10 minutes and then add in the lemon juice.

How to Make Hot Morning Lemon Water Recipe:
- Peel and thinly slice the ginger, and add to a small sauce pan.
- Add the water, place on a burner over medium heat.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, remove and discard the ginger.
- Remove from heat, add in the lemon juice and honey and mix until the honey is dissolved.
- Pour the lemon ginger tea into a mug and serve hot.
How to Make Cold Lemon Water Detox Drinks:
- Add 1 cup of ice to a tall glass and set aside.
- Peel and thinly slice the ginger, and add to a small sauce pan.
- Add the water, place on a burner over medium heat.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, remove and discard the ginger.
