Along with the healthy recipe for garlic knots, I have supplied 3 low calorie dipping sauces.

I like to use real butter in this recipe, garlic knots need them to brown and to have the right flavor. You can swap it for vegan butter if you prefer though.

How to Make Low Calorie Garlic Knots

I love this easy dough! It doesn’t need any rising time (thanks to the self-rising flour) and it’s packed with protein thanks to the greek yogurt!

It is a bit sticky though, this is why I recommend rolling it out between parchment paper. As a bonus, this means you won’t have a big mess of flour all over your kitchen counter.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the flour, yogurt, and garlic salt and mix until combined.
  3. Form into a ball of dough.
  4. Lay a piece of parchment paper out on the countertop.
  5. Place the dough in the center of the parchment paper. Top the dough with a little flour and a second piece of parchment paper.
  6. Use a rolling pin to roll it out to a large rectangle, 1/4 inch thick.

  8. Take the strips of dough one at a time into your hands and tie it in a knot, then place on the prepared baking sheet. Do this until you have ties 19 knots.
  9. Add the melted butter, minced garlic cloves, parsley and salt to a small bowl. Use a basting brush to brush the top of each dough knot with garlic butter sauce (alternatively you can turn over and dip the top of each knot into the butter mixture.)
