  • Juice of 7 limes
  • 4 cups chopped tomatoes 
  • 2 Serrano peppers 
  • ½ white onion 
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro

Equipment

  • Glass Bowl

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 pound tilapia or shrimp peeled and deveined
  • Juice of 7 limes
  • 4 cups chopped tomatoes about 5 tomatoes
  • 2 Serrano peppers ribs and seeds removed, minced
  • ½ white onion minced
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro

Extras:

  • Tostadas chips or corn tortillas
  • Sliced Avocado
  • Lime wedges
  • Pico de Gallo

Instructions
 

  • Chop the fish or shrimp, and add to a nonreactive bowl (such as a glass bowl) as you work.
  • Squeeze the lime juice over the top, cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. In this time the lime juice will cure the fish or shrimp.
  • In a separate bowl combine the tomatoes, Serrano peppers, onion and cilantro, set aside in the fridge to marinate.
  • When the fish has a cooked like consistency, pour off most of the lime juice, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the bow.
  • Add in the chopped veggies and mix well.
  • Serve on tostadas or tortillas, or with chips like a dip. See other yummy extras to add to your ceviche.
