Ingredients
 
 

  • ¼ cup pineapple juice
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 8-10 pound fully cooked ham bone-in or boneless
  • ¼ cup whole cloves

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 425° and line a baking tray or dish with foil.
  • In a small pot over medium heat combine the pineapple juice, butter, honey and brown sugar. Cook until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Meanwhile, trim away the rind on the ham and discard (not the fat).
  • Using a sharp knife score a 1-inch-wide diamond pattern (1/4 inch deep) over the entire ham. Insert cloves into the centre of each diamond. Place the ham in the prepared baking tray.
  • Pour 1/2 of the glaze all over the ham, brushing in between the cuts to evenly cover.
  • Bake uncovered for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, add the remaining glaze and some of the pan juices, and cook for 15-25 minutes until a dark golden-brown crust has formed, (about 30 minutes total).
  • Broil for 2-5 minutes (watch carefully) then remove from the oven.
  • Let the ham rest 10-15 minutes before slicing.
