Ingredients You’ll Need
- 2 – 3 pounds Tri-Tip Steak or Flank Steak
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or Tamari)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- Olive oil spray

Healthy Marinaded Tri Tip Steak Meal Prep and Storage
Meal Prep: You can marinate this steak for longer than recommended if you add it to the freezer. Just meal prep by adding the marinade and steak to a freezer bag. Mix well and freeze for later.
Storage: Will hold in the fridge for 5 days and the freezer for a month.

Low Calorie Marinaded Tri Tip Steak
Equipment
- Meat Thermometer
Ingredients
- 2 – 3 pounds Tri-Tip Steak or Flank Steak
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or Tamari
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Combine the lemon juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in a medium bowl.
- Add the steak to a gallon freezer bag and pour the marinade over steak. Marinate, in the refrigerator for 1-4 hours.
- Preheat the grill to high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and spray with olive oil.
- Add the tri-tip steak to the hot grill and sear each side for 5 – 10 minutes per side.
- Lower the grill heat to medium-low heat and continue to grill for 8-10 minutes each side.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure you cook your steak to the doneness you desire. The thermometer will read 120° for rare, 130° for medium-rare, and 140° for medium.
- Remove steak from grill and rest for 10 -15 minutes before slicing. Slice across the grain for the most tender meat.
