Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- Zest of 1 orange
- Juice of 2 oranges
- ¼ cup chicken broth
- ¼ cup soy sauce (or Tamari)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Healthy Orange Chicken Meal Prep and Storage
Meal Prep: This makes a great meal prep dinner! Make the chicken ahead of time, add to a meal prep container along with some cooked rice (or cauliflower rice) and some broccoli or green beans and store for later. When you reheat the dish the veggies will steam in the container!
Storage: Will hold in the fridge for 5 days and the freezer for a month.
Reheating: Reheat in the microwave for 1-3 minutes.

Low Calorie Orange Chicken
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
Orange Chicken Sauce:
- Zest of 1 orange
- Juice of 2 oranges
- ¼ cup chicken broth
- ¼ cup soy sauce or Tamari
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger minced
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions
- In a large pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
- Cook the chicken until browned and cooked though, about 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine the orange sauce mixture in a medium bowl.
- Once cooked, move the chicken to a plate, and pour the sauce into the pan.
- Bring the sauce mixture to a boil, lower to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 10 minutes. Stir often to avoid burning.
- Once the sauce is thickened and coats the back of a spoon, add the cooked chicken to the pan and mix together to coat the chicken in orange sauce.

Different elevations can change such things. Try adding 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
