Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°
  • Cut the top 1/3 off the garlic head so the cloves are exposed.
  • Place the garlic head in an oven safe ramekin, spray with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and cover tightly with foil.
  • Roast in the oven for 1 hour, then carefully move the ramekin from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the foil and discard. And move the garlic clove to a cutting board.
  • Use a fork to gently pop out the garlic cloves onto the cutting board.
  • You can use the same fork to smash the cloves into a roasted garlic spread, or you can place the cooked garlic cloves into a glass container, cover and refrigerate for later. Will hold in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Directions Without Ramekin:

  • Cut off a 2-foot piece of foil and place the prepared garlic clove in the center.
  • Spray with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Wrap the foil around the garlic clove to make a loose but well sealed packet, and place on a baking sheet or casserole dish.
  • Roast for 1 hour and continue with directions above.
