  • 1 ounce whiskey
  • 2 teaspoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 lemon round
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional garnish)
  • 1 slice pear (optional garnish)
  • 1 star anise (optional garnish)

This low calorie Hot Toddy Recipe is easy to make and festive too!
I like to add a slice of pear to my hot totties, it helps sweeten the drink more and looks so pretty… but it's optional just as the cinnamon stick and star anise is. They jazz up the drink, but if you are making a hot toddy recipe for a cough and don't feel well, just skip the garnishes and get to your healing drink!

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 ounce whiskey
  • 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
  • 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 lemon round
  • 1 cinnamon stick optional garnish
  • 1 slice pear optional garnish
  • 1 star anise optional garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, bring the water to a simmer. Pour the hot water into a mug.
  • Add the whiskey, honey and lemon juice. Stir until the honey has disappeared into the hot water.
  • Garnish with a lemon round (cinnamon stick, pear and star anise if desired) and serve hot.
