1. Press “Cancel” to turn off your Instant Pot.
2. Do a quick release to release the pressure.
3. After the pressure has released open the lid.
4. Assess the problem - Is there food stuck to the bottom/ enough liquid / missing sealing ring?
5. Correct the Issue

6. Resume cooking

Food Stuck to the Bottom:
If you have food stuck to the bottom of the inner pot, move the contents of the Instant Pot to a heat safe bowl.
Let the Instant Pot cool and then clean the inner pot well.
Add the food back to the pot, if after doing this you still receive an Instant Pot burn message, add ½ to 1 cup more liquid.
Not Enough Liquid:
If there is no food stuck to the bottom of the inner pot, you may not have enough liquid in the pot.
Add ½ cup to 1 cup more liquid.
Sealing Ring Issues:
If your Sealing Ring is missing or loose iyou may get an Instant Pot burn warning.
Inspect your sealing ring and adjust as needed.
Special Note:
If this is happening often, you may ant to get a new sealing ring.
