Slice the ginger thin and add to a mug, add the tea bag and the lemon to the mug as well.
Bring 8 ounces of water to a boil, then pour over the contents of the mug.
Allow to steep for 5-10 minutes, until it reaches a drinkable temperature.
Remove the ginger, tea bag and the lemon slices (unless you want it strong, in that case you can leave it in) and drink the tea.
If you prefer your tea iced, let it cool to room temperature (leaving the ingredients in to steep longer) then strain out tea and pour over a tall glass filled with ice.
