Italian Seasoning Ingredients

The ingredients of Italian seasoning varies from recipe to recipe… So if you don’t have one (or don’t like one) omit it. As an Italian woman myself, I assure you we don’t judge (wink).

Special Note: Always wash herbs before trying… then proceed with your desired method of drying.

Tips for Home Drying Herbs:

  • Air Drying: This method takes about a week. Make small bundles of herbs and bind together at the thickest part of the stem with kitchen twine. Hang and dry in a cool dark place (like your pantry).
  • Oven Drying: This method takes about 30 minutes. Pluck the leaves from the stems, and lay out on a cheesecloth lined baking sheet. Bake at the lowest temperature your oven will go to, for about 30 minutes until dry.
  • Microwave Drying: This method takes less than 5 minutes. Pluck the leaves from the stems and arrange between 2 paper towels. Microwave in 30 second increments until dry, checking in between each 30 second run.
