Green Smoothie Meal Prep and Storage

Meal Prep

  • Individual Smoothie Bags – Add the Green Smoothie ingredients (less any liquid) to a sandwich bag and seal. Store in the freezer (will hold for 1 month in freezer).
  • Family Sized Smoothie Bags  – Add several servings worth of ingredients (less any liquid) to a gallon freezer bag. Place a 1 cup plastic measuring cup in the bag. Close and seal the bag, and store in the freezer (will hold for 1 month in freezer).
  • Prepared Smoothies – these smoothies are best made fresh, but you can make them ahead of time and store in a clean jar (with a lid) in the fridge.

Leftover Storage

  • Fridge Storage – Add any leftover smoothie to a jar (I actually serve them in jars so all I have to do is add a lid). Close and store in the fridge for 2-3 days.
  • Freezer Storage – Pour any leftover smoothie into ice cube molds, and freeze solid (about 4 hours). Then pop out of the mold and move to a freezer bag to avoid freezer burn. Will hold for 1 month in the freezer

Frozen will give it a thicker consistency, and make it cold. But you don’t have to use frozen if you don’t want to.

  12. I tried this smoothie this morning for the first time, it was delicious! Two hours later and I am still quite full. I think this is going to be a regular fav!

  16. Please am intrested in these smoothies but I don’t know if I can get all the ingredients ingredients Nigeria .

  17. Wow i have never seen a web site like yours. So helpful and your free. You do it to help us and not for profit.

  18. Freeze them in ice cube trays. Pop out and store in ziplock bags. ( labeled)… When you want a smoothie simply remove desired amount, and blend.

    Love the knowledge 🙂 Thanks
Do you know anything about the Nutri Bullet? Do you reccommend it?

  20. I wouldn’t freeze the pre-made smoothies. When you re-thaw then they tend to separate and get weird and frothy. You can put all of your ingredients into a ziploc bag and freeze that so all you have to do is throw it in a blender and add a liquid.

  21. Question: What’s your take on suing coconut water for standard water? And cherries are out of season here and I can’t find them frozen, do you have suggestions for substitutes?

  22. Hi Audrey
I just made my first smoothy from your top 10 Purple Passion ” yummy” Thank you so much for the recipes and in helping me lose my buddy belly lol

  26. Thank you for giving me an easy formula to get started. Looking forward to trying your green smoothies especially with pineapple…yum!

  27. I put 1 drop pf dish soap into the blender container with some water, blend it up and rinse. Easiest way to clean out your blender.

  28. Thanks Audrey I have been struggling with converting from juicing to smoothies! Your info is very helpful. I always feel like the smoothie tastes so good it can’t be good for you!

  29. Wow, I love all the recipes and ease of doing this! Someone gave my family a juicer and we grow organic produce on a farm, so I have lots to choose from in the summer, but I hate all the ‘juicing’ waste. I am going to have to try doing some of these. They sound so good!
