Healthy Frozen Fruit Smoothie Meal Prep and Storage

Meal Prep

  • Individual Smoothie Bags – Add the frozen fruit smoothie ingredients (less any liquid) to a sandwich bag and seal. Store in the freezer (will hold for 1 month in freezer).
  • Family Sized Smoothie Bags  – Add several servings worth of ingredients (less any liquid) to a gallon freezer bag. Place a 1/2 cup plastic measuring cup in the bag. Close and seal the bag, and store in the freezer (will hold for 1 month in freezer).
  • Prepared Smoothies – these smoothies are best made fresh, but you can make them ahead of time and store in a clean jar (with a lid) in the fridge.

Leftover Storage

  • Fridge Storage – Add any leftover smoothie to a jar (I actually serve them in jars so all I have to do is add a lid). Close and store in the fridge for 2-3 days.
  • Freezer Storage – Pour any leftover smoothie into ice cube molds, and freeze solid (about 4 hours). Then pop out of the mold and move to a freezer bag to avoid freezer burn. Will hold for 1 month in the freezer.

Low Calorie Frozen Fruit Smoothies

Lose Weight By Eating
This easy frozen fruit smoothie recipe is easy to make and low in calories.
I have a best selling cookbook centered around smoothies, so I know a thing or two about how to make a smoothie recipe taste amazing, without being loaded with calories.
TIPS TO MAKING A LOW CALORIE FROZEN FRUIT SMOOTHIE:
1. Use sliced, frozen banana in place of sweetener. It will give the smoothie a boost of sweetness and add creaminess.
2. Berries alone are not that sweet, add in pineapple to sweeten and give a tropical flare.
3. If you want to add greens, try baby spinach. It has practically no flavor.

What is there no to love? It is cold, creamy, sweet & tangy. Instead of honey, l use a pinch of monk fruit sweetener. This same smoothie could be made with fresh fruit, but I prefer the texture provided by using frozen fruit.
