How to Make Kung Pao Chicken:

  1. In a medium bowl combine all of the Kung Pao Sauce ingredients and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a skillet over high heat, add in the chiles and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add in the chicken and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add in the bell peppers, celery, and onion. Lower the heat to medium-high heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often.
  5. Add in the garlic, ginger, and peanuts. Mix together and cook for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant. Add in the Kung Pao Sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes until the chicken is cooked through with no pink in the center, and the sauce is thick.
  6. Serve over rice.

Ingredients
  

Chicken Kung Pao:

  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 5 dried chiles optional- for spice
  • 2 chicken breasts cut into bite sized cubes
  • 2 bell peppers diced
  • 3 celery stalks diced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ teaspoon ginger
  • ¼ cup unsalted peanuts

Kung Pao Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce or Tamari
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons Hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl combine all of the Kung Pao Sauce ingredients and set aside.
